Walk down a street like the Cabo Nao Rd., ( photo left) and on closer inspection you will find that almost a third of the businesses are estate or letting agents.

Another third are simply bars and almost all the remainder are restaurants.

Property sales and rentals have been booming in Javea over the last few years although there are signs that the market has weakened a little of late.  Prices rise at above the rate of inflation most years.
Also estate agents do not charge the 2% commission you find in the UK but a minimum of 5% in fact you could be quoted 10%.  In fact some estate agents will sell your property at above your asking price and pocket that difference in addition. No surprise they abound.

However if you spend a holiday in Javea the chances are you will spend a couple of hours comparing prices with those in the UK.  If you are thinking of retiring early and own a property in a sought after area of the UK you will be tempted with the prospect of moving to Spain and after selling your house in the UK you will find you have maybe £200,000 for investement to supplement your pension.
Further more you will find that in Spain your pension will go a little further than say in England mainly because local taxation is lower and you will use less fuel for heating. Find out more about buying a Spanish Property.

Returning to the beach however after perusing the estate agents you will have time to reflect a little on whats on offer and the fact that it would be nice to return here frequently to enjoy this warm sea and sand.  Chances are if you are here you are staying in a rented villa or apartment for your holidays but this leads many to the next idea that of buying an apartment to invest in till your retirement and renting it out to give a valuable income in the meantime.  Don' t forget however you are liable to 25% tax payable on immediately on receipt of any money received when letting your property
